A “household clear-out” can include very different materials. List the large items, packaging, timber, renovation debris and anything electrical or chemical before asking which skip to hire. Acceptance must be confirmed for your specific load.
Large items
Give approximate dimensions for furniture or awkward items. Do not assume they can be broken up or that nominal skip volume guarantees they fit.
Mixed materials
Describe separate waste streams. Ask which items may share a load and which need separate arrangements.
Special handling
Flag batteries, paint, chemicals, electrical items and suspect asbestos. Keep them out of an ordinary load while you obtain suitable disposal advice.

If the waste is inside an upstairs flat or needs heavy lifting, plan that labour first. If you cannot provide loading or somewhere suitable for a skip, look for a collection service that includes those tasks.

Tell us where the skip would stand, how a delivery vehicle can reach it and whether a complex or property manager needs to approve access. Ask for the actual skip and vehicle dimensions if space is limited.

Can I put ordinary kitchen rubbish in the skip?
Do not assume it is accepted. Describe the contents before booking and keep food or potentially hazardous waste separate until you receive specific guidance.
