Choose a skip when you can load it
You need space for the skip and someone to fill it. This can suit waste that accumulates during work, provided the hire period is agreed around your project.
The Orange service is skip hire, not a promise to shovel, carry or demolish anything.
Need someone to do the loading?
If rubble must be carried down stairs, through the house or from a distant pile, arrange labour separately or look for a crew-loaded collection. Compare like-for-like quotes before deciding.
Describe the rubble before choosing the bin.
Tell us whether the load contains bricks, concrete, sand, stone, tiles, plaster, timber or a renovation mix. Identify soil and any unusual materials separately. This is information to assess your enquiry, not a blanket list of approved contents.
Dense rubble can reach an agreed loading limit before it fills the skip’s volume. Confirm the suitable size, accepted materials and fill level in advance. Keep uncertain or potentially hazardous material out until you have specific guidance.
Do not turn a vehicle rule into a skip limit
The City’s recycling guide makes limited commercial drop-off acceptance conditional on vehicle carrying capacity of 1.5 tonnes or less. That is a condition for using those drop-off facilities; it does not establish Orange’s skip weight allowance.

For a small separated load, compare skip hire with a suitable City drop-off. The City says its facilities primarily receive household waste; limited commercial garden waste and clean rubble need confirmation with the official in charge. Check the current material list and access conditions before travelling.
Skip hire avoids you transporting the agreed load yourself. It still requires a suitable place for delivery and somebody to load it. See the local disposal and booking guide.

What does rubble removal cost?
For Orange’s self-loaded skip service: 2m³ R850, 3m³ R930, 6m³ R1,500 or 8m³ R2,000, including delivery, collection and disposal. Confirm the material and loading limits before choosing a size. Crew-loaded collection is a different service.
Can I mix rubble with garden refuse?
Describe each waste stream before booking and ask whether separate loads are needed. Do not assume a mixed load has the same acceptance conditions as clean rubble or clean garden waste.
Do you offer same-day rubble collection?
No same-day commitment is advertised. Request your preferred dates and wait for confirmation of availability.
